BMW Project
My client, Stream Companies have a wide variety of clients they work with for advertising and marketing purposes. The client of theirs that I designed some collateral pieces for was BMW.
Step 1 - Research
Upon my research, I found that BMW's target audience are mainly people who are middle-aged, but that they want to expand their brand in an effort to attract younger customers. BMW wants to gain more young customers, which they can do by showcasing their new sporty and innovative vehicles that are environmentally friendly, since they are electric.
Step 2 - Thumbnail Sketches
After conducting my research on BMW, I began sketching out different ideas for each of the three pieces.
Step 3 - Choosing Colors and Fonts
Considering BMW strives to gain a younger crowd of drivers, I wanted to ensure the colors and fonts I chose for each piece resembled this. Bright colors such as red or green really pop off the page and provide a fresh energy. Strong and sleek fonts coincide with a sense of adventure and fearlessness.
Step 4 - Selecting Images
The final step in my process is selecting images. I always prioritize using images that are directly from a client, in this case BMW or that are from free use websites such as Pixabay or Unsplash. When looking through the wide range of images on these websites, I prefer to pick images that work with a specific theme. For this project, I chose images that provide a sense of adventure and excitement.
